How to get there

Directions from the North: From the A6 pass through Bakewell town centre and continue south on the A6 passing through Rowsley Village. Continue for a further 3 miles through Darley Dale and then turn right onto the B5057 sign-posted Winster (The Joseph Whitworth Centre a Victorian-gothic building is on the junction of this road). Winster is approximately 3 miles further along this road. Once in the village look out for the Historic Market House and immediately turn left onto East Bank. Once past the Bowling Green Pub, the road forks, take the right lane which leads to the Flat. The Croft is at the end of this road. Directions from the South:From the A6 pass through Matlock town centre and continue north on the A6. After 3 miles look out for a DFS superstore. Here you should turn left just after the RBS bank onto the B5057 signposted Winster. Winster is 3 miles further along this road. Once in the village look out for the Historic Market House and immediately turn left onto East Bank. Once past the Bowling Green Pub, the road forks, take the right lane which leads to the Flat. The Croft is at the end of this road. Alternative, and less tricky parking can be found at the Green, at the top of the village. To find this parking place do not turn at the Market house but continue through the village until you reach West Bank, turn left up the hill for a hundred yards until you arrive at a left turn onto the Green. You can park your car alongside the green.

Getting around

The best way to get around the village is on foot and the Croft is centrally located making it easy to access the shop and pubs. The pathways also provide some stunning views of the beautiful gardens in Winster. In and around the peak district, a car is the best way to get around. However, Winster is served by a regular bus service to Matlock, which has a railway station that connects to the Midlands.
