It's easy to fly to Bulgaria from the UK with regular flights from carriers such as Bulgaria Air, British Airways, easyJet and WizzAir. Ryanair fly from Stanstead to Plovdiv.

From Sofia or Varna, we recommend organising a personal transfer with our agent, Neil. This costs around £90 and Neil will let you in the house and show you around. He also has child car seats and a cot for hire. Contact us and we can help you arrange this. Otherwise, there are excellent regular coaches to VT, which take about 3 hours and leave from the central bus station. There is also a train, which takes longer (around 4 hours) but is very scenic.

Car hire is available in VT or at Sofia airport, starting at around £20 per day. Taxis are also plentiful and inexpensive. Our local English speaking taxi driver, Dimitar, is full of helpful local information and will also deliver takeway food to you from VT!
