You can fly either to the local airport at Pescara, or to one of the airports in Rome - the larger one is Fiumicino and is about 2.5 hours away, the other is called Ciampino and is about 2 hours away.

The train service runs from both Rome and Pescara to Sulmona and is an economical and a beautiful way to view the area. Bugnara is only 7km from Sulmona.
