Public transport is limited. A car is necessary for exploring the wider area. The nearest airports are at Limoges, Poitiers (both an hour by car) and Bordeaux 90 minutes away.

If driving from the Channel Ports: from Calais it is approximately 450 miles (720km) and from Le Havre it is 325 miles ( 510km).

The roads south are usually very clear and the motorway network excellent. There are many lovely towns to stop at if you prefer a more leisurely trip south, staying away from the motorway network.
