How to get there
Access
By Car
• From Pisa Airport. Take A 12 Genoa – Livorno Motorway in direction of Livorno
• Leave Pisa Nord and join A11 Firenze-Mare motorway toward Lucca.
• Come off at Lucca, turn left after the motorway toll and follow signs for Castelnuovo Garfagnana
• When you reach Castelnuovo Garfagnana bear right over the bridge and follow signs for San Romano
• About 1lm after Castelnuovo you will climb a short hill. At the top turn left. Following the signs for San Romano, keep on that road and you will go past the villages of Pentecosi, then La Villetta and then Sillicagnana.
• About 500m after the sign for Sillicagnana you will see a sign ‘Bar Sport’ and a road on the right to the car park.
• Go through the village, turn right at the memorial. Fork right past the church (church will be on your left). Turn left up a small slope to a square. The house is on the end at the left.

Caporgiano is the nearest train station on the Lucca-Aulla railway line. It is 90 minutes from Castelnuovo. Casa Clara is a 10 minute taxi ride from Caporgiano station.

Getting around
Train Station Caporgiano is the nearest train station on the Lucca-Aulla railway line. It is 90 minutes from Castelnuovo. Casa Clara is a 10 minute taxi ride from Caporgiano or Villeta station. The train in Garfagnana is mainly used by commuters and students to reach Lucca and Pisa. As the eight train stations of the Garfagnana are located near town centers, but far from other tourist destinations (often in the mountains) web sites advise mixing trains with busses or taking bicycles on the train to explore the surrounding zones.
