Villa Tulia is situated on the outskirts of Matemwe village, about 45 minutes drive from the airport in Zanzibar town.
There are 3 ways of getting here from town:
- Taxi transfer ($50-60$ each way)
- Self-drive – we can help you rent a small 4×4 (automatic); it can be challenging for inexperienced drivers or those who never tried to drive on the “wrong” ;-) side of the road (30$ a day)
–Daladala (local bus) number 118, leaving from the central bus station. Can be challenging if you have a lot of luggage. (2$).
When in Matemwe, as you leave the tarmac, head left. On the first crossroads, keep right and carry on straight. Go past the signs to Matemwe Beach Village and follow the stone wall. Turn right at the end of it. Our gate is only 200 meters down the road.
You can't miss it but if you do, just go back to Matemwe Beach Village and ask for directions at the reception.
