How to get there
Most of the budget airlines from Ireland and the UK fly into Faro. To get from Faro airport to Alvor you can either hire a car, or arrive by taxi.

Getting around
Getting around within Alvor, including to the beach, is by walking! Forget your car, leave it in the inside parking of the complex. To get around other places in Algarve, I rather recommend a private car. You can also ask for a taxi/Uber or similar. Finally, there is free public alternative, called "Vai & Vem" (Come & Go), between Alvor and Portimão, with stops in between the two. There is stop just outside the complex entrance.
