How to get there
This will depend very much on how you intend to travel to the Coast. If flying in, we recommend doing so to the Ukunda airstrip thus avoiding Mombasa traffic congestion and the sometimes unreliable Likoni ferry.

Getting around
Either bring your own car, hire one or rely on the local taxi service (telephone for booking/collection). For down to earth travel (not recommended for the faint hearted) there are "tuk tuk"s (Indian tricycles) and "matatus" (minibuses, sort of).
