Arriving by car you can either take Junction 36 of the M6 and drive through Windermere then over the Kirkstone Pass or you can come off at Junction 40, Penrith and follow the signs to Ullswater. Glenridding is 15 miles from Penrith. By train - Penrith has a station on the West Coast Mainline and there are taxis at the station - taxi cost approx £38 to Glenridding. There is also a bus service from the station - Bus no. 108 to Patterdale. Frequency 2 hourly, less on Sundays.
