How to get there
take flight from Mexico City to puerto escondido, oaxaca, mx. When arriving to Puerto Escondido airport, ask the taxi shuttle to drive to Banana's restaurant, in Zicatella beach. A canal path next to Banana's leads you to the back of the restaurant to a rod iron gate. Go through the gates that leads you Casa la Joya; third property on the left. Note only a walking path is available to access Casa La Joya. Vehicle Parking is only available on the main Blvd.

Getting around
Taxi transportation is the best means of getting around. Next are busses and "covered" wagon pickups with bench sitting in the back. When in doubt, simply ask. vendors know English language. "El cafecito and Dan's is best for breakfast. For fine dining try Hotel La Rose, the Espadine Inn, El Sante Fe hotel and the Inez. Groceries can be bought at a super market previously known as Super Chae. The taxi guy will know what you're asking for. Also, don't forget to go to the Mercado (open market). Where the real deals for fresh fruit and veggies can be founds. Coffee beans can be purchased there as well. The house has a coffee bean grinder and a coffee maker. Tours of the area are available Through hotel services.
