How to get there
The Isle of Bute is easily accesses by regular ferries running from either Wemyss Bay, or Colintraive. There are regular buses on the island linking the ferry terminal in Rothesay with the cottage in Port Bannatyne, as well as many taxis.

Getting around
There are regular buses between Port Bannatyne, Rothesay, and Kilchattan Bay. There is also an hourly bus to Ettrick Bay which stops just outside the cottage. (Ettrick Bay has a large Tea Room overlooking the bay which offers meals, ice creams, cakes, and beverages.) During the Sumner there is an open-top bus that travels around the island.
