The nearest port is Ouistreham in Caen. It's a 45 minute toll free drive from the port to the cottage. Brittany Ferries operate the route from Portsmouth, also Poole to Cherbourg which is 90 toll free minutes from here. Le Harve is 90 minutes north of the cottage and served by LD Lines who often have cheaper fares. The boats are smaller and there are some tolls (approx 7 euros each way). Going north you get Dieppe & Bologne before you get to Calais with ferries and the Eurotunnel. We are around 4 hours drive from Calais, it will cost around 20 euros in tolls each way. The autoroutes are normally free flowing but sometimes in August there can be queues at the toll booths. The nearest airports are Rennes and Dinard, we are about 2 hours from each.
