From I-880:

Take Alvarado Blvd Exit and head west. Turn left on Dyer Street, then turn right onto Cabello Street, and then make a left turn onto Allison Drive. The house is at the corner of Lisa drive and Allison Drive.

About the immediate neighborhood:

Our house is located in an ethnically diverse area of Union City that includes a significant presence of Filipino, Indian, and Chinese populations. It also includes various shops and restaurants catering to these populations, in addition to the more traditional American shops and restaurants. About a mile to the north, the area includes a 100-acre shopping complex called Union Landing Shopping Center. It has many well-known stores, restaurants, banks, cinema, wireless stores (AT&T, Verizon), etc. A park is available one block from our house that offers free tennis and basketball courts. Also nearby is Holy Community Center, about half a mile from our house, a facility that offers access to swimming pool and exercise machines for a nominal fee.

Shopping:

For quick shopping, Rite Aid is located on Alvarado Plaza shopping center, about half mile from our house. The strip mall also includes various small shops, restaurants, liquor stores, gas stations, and a grocery store.

Walmart is located off Dyer Street to the north, about 1.5 miles from our house. Further down the road on Dyer/Whipple road, you will find Target, about 1.9 miles from our house.

For groceries, Lucky Supermarket is available on Dyer Street inside the Union Landing Shopping Complex, about a mile to the north of our house. Further up north on the same street, you will also find another grocery store Smart and Final. Petco and Michael’s are also in the same raw.

For electronics, Best Buy is available inside Union City Landing shopping complex. For hardware, there is Lowes, also inside Union Landing, within a mile from our house, and further down on Dyer/Whipple streets is Home Depot.

Dining:

Half a mile from our house, Alvarado Plaza shopping center includes Maneki Sushi restaurant, a small but good sushi bar, and Pizza Hut for quick pizza takeout. Another good pizza place around here is Branco Billy’s Pizza Palace on Smith Street about a mile from our house. Thai Kitchen is just a couple of blocks from us, at the corner of Alvarado Blvd, and Dyer Street.

At Union Landing shopping center, you will find restaurants like Texas Roadhouse, Chili’s Bar and Grill, and TGI Friday, among others.

For a quick grab, Andersen Bakery and In-N-Out are available within Union Landing shopping center. At Union City landing, you will also find Chipotle Mexican Grill, IHOP, Starbucks, and Jamba Juice.
