Easton to Watermark Details

On your way in, let's first get the geography.

The town of Easton is about 20 minutes from Watermark. St. Michael's is about 15 minutes from Easton and a further seven minutes to Watermark. There is all kinds of big box shopping in Easton while mostly boutique shopping in St. Michael's.

From Rt 322, before you turn on to St. Michael's Road, you have a Food Lion, Target, a Dick's Sporting Goods, and Pet Smart (if you have a dog), to meet most of your shopping requirements. Here you can purchase all the things you may have forgotten! Target does have a pharmacy if you need. There are other larger stores, such as Walmart, but you will need to go through Easton to get to them.

Target also has a good supply of groceries. In the same area you will find a movie theater, with smaller size screens but up-to-date movies, a couple of chinese restaurant, a Japanese teppanyaki style restaurant and bowling. There are also a couple of other smaller grocery stores. One focuses on organic, but at this point you can also buy most of those at Target.

By the way, historic Easton is a great place to also come to for an afternoon. Lots of restaurants and artsy places. Easton is also named one of the top 10 towns to live in.

Leaving Easton and heading towards Saint Michaels, there's not much shopping. But it gets prettier. :-)

As you begin to enter the outskirts of Saint Michaels, on the left side you will see the St. Michaels Inn, followed by a nice little coffee kiosk called Rise Up. Highly recommend their coffees and drinks! Immediately after, also on the left you will see a supermarket called Graul's. This is a well-stocked supermarket with a nice variety of foods, fruits, deli items, as well as hard alcohol and beers. Recommend shopping here for meats. Further on, and also on the left, there is Sam's pizza. Not only are their pizzas very good, but they deliver to Watermark.

You will now enter St. Michaels a stretch of residential housing.

When you enter the town of St. Michael's proper, you will find boutique shops and restaurants to explore. There are a couple of side roads, on the right, that take you to dockside restaurants where you can eat crabs and other fare by the water. It's a fun and clean town to explore. Take time to have a look, keeping in mind that on the weekends they normally have special events like farmers markets and arts/craft shows. The main office of the vacation rental company is also there on the main street.

As you make your way about two thirds of the way through town, on the left you will see Acme, the last grocery store before you get to Watermark. This store has pretty much everything you need for food and drink and is very convenient.

Note that as compared to the city, stores here shut earlier on Sundays and in general on weeknights also.

Finally, at the other end of St. Michaels is the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum. Definitely find some time to spend a couple of hours here to learn about the Chesapeake Bay way of life and the watermen.

The address of Watermark is 8956 Tilghman Island Rd. As you head to Watermark, about 3+ miles past St. Michael's, stop in at Chesapeake Bay Landing restaurant where they have a counter for fresh seafood, salads, and also have beer and wine for sale. At about 6 miles you will pass open fields on the right with a view of the Bay, followed by a green sign for Wittman. The sign for Watermark is about 100 yards further on the right.

Please go through the tree-lined driveway at a slow speed in consideration of the neighbors AND we also have wild rabbits, turtles, and deer by the road. So please do drive slowly!

On what to bring and what we have...

We have towels, sheets, some toys, games, dishes, cutlery, cookware, and all of these kind of things at the house. There are some basic spices, and some teas and a little coffee normally.

What is useful to bring are toiletries, sunscreen, bug repellent when needed, beach or water shoes, hats as the sun is quite strong, and lots of smiles! If you have baby, don't forget diapers, etc.! There is a highchair, crib, and a pack n'play.

On things to do, there will be some brochures and pamphlets to look at in the house. You can also explore Tilghman Island, which is another seven or eight minutes past the house going south. We like having a hearty breakfast at, "Two If By Sea". By the way, the most used drawbridge in the US needs to be crossed to get to Tilghman Island. And there is a nice beach in Claiborne, about 6-8 minutes north, across the public dock.

We hope this helps! Contact us with any questions!
