Many international car rental businesses have stations at the airport. The trip to Rancho Santana Condo 1B is approximately 2 1/2 hours. Transportation arrangements other than car rentals can be made for a fee. If you choose to drive, there are signs to Rancho Santana at directional decision points on the PanAmerican Highway from the airport to Rivas Department.

Enroute to Rancho Santana you can visit the Masaya Markets--Old Market, and New Market--; Catarina, town famous for plants, hammocks, and "tired" toucans; and San Juan de Oriente, famous for unique Nicaraguan pottery artisans.

If you would have time to stop a while, visit the colonial town of Granada on Lake Nicaragua. Arrangements can be made for accommodations in Granada. You will encounter many global expats who enjoy the good life in a metropolitan town in Nicaragua. While in Granada you can take a ferry to Ometepe Island within Lake Nicaragua or tour in a small boat the Isletas, habitated islands just offshore Granada.
