How to get there
Fly to Geneva and then drive approximately one hour, 15 minutes. Very easy! Dual carriageway almost the entire way, rarely, if ever, affected by snow.
Alternatively, Chamonix is about an 8 hour drive from Calais. A good idea, if coming from the UK, is to drive for 2 hours to the Champagne region, stay the night and then drive for 6 hours the following day.

Getting around
Car is the best. However, there is a good bus system and the Mont Blanc Express train runs throughout the valley and down into Switzerland.
