How to get there
Mancora may be reached by plane (Talara, Tumbes and Piura), or by bus (Cruz del Sur, Oltursa and others). Surfingbirds is located in La Quebrada (former Barrio Industrial) before entering "el pueblo". If coming from the South (Piura, Talara) , soon after passing the archway (Bienvenidos a Mancora), you will pass Cabo Blanco bridge. On the right-handside (towards the hills) take one of the entrances that go down, then, take the dust road that passes between the hedges. When you will see a white door, take your right. After 40 meters, on Calle Martin O'Grady you will see the wooden gate within stone pillars. Ring the bell (cord on the lefthandside).
Getting around
It is easy to go to the beach passing under the bridge. The surf point is 300 meters away from the front gate. Most shops and restaurants are within walking distance. The local transport is mototaxi, but it is advisable that you go with recommended drivers. Taxis can take you to other beaches as Punta Sal (45 minutes) , El Nuro (30 minutes) and Cabo Blanco (40 minutes) , to Quebrada Fernandez (Cerros de Amotape-20 minutes), Los Manglares (1 1.15 minutes-mangroves at Puerto Pizarro).
