How to get there
Approaching Barmouth from Dolgellau on the A496, turn left onto the harbour/ sea front after the Last Inn (on the right) and follow the promenade past the big car park and past Beach Road.
If you come in from the Harlech direction, turn right when you see the sign to the railway station, then turn right over the railway crossing and then right again onto Marine Parade.
Getting around
Barmouth is perfect for whatever type of holiday you want. For those with families miles of sweeping sandy beaches await you, or perhaps you could explore nearby Harlech Castle – a World Heritage Site. If you're into cycling or horse-riding there are numerous scenic places to ride and the internationally-famous mountain-biking centre at Coed y Brenin just 20 minutes away. This is a walker’s paradise with the Mawddach Trail & Taith Ardudwy Way very close, whilst the Wales Coast Path passes the front door! For those seeking a little more challenge Cader Idris lies at the head of the Mawddach Estuary, and Snowdon can be reached in less than an hour.
