If you prefer not to drive in Italy, Montone is an ideal location. We can arrange a taxi to collect and return you from Perugia airport or others. Montone has a limited bus service but it will get you down to Umbertide where you can connect to other destinations like Perugia and Sansepolcro by train. Perugia is our nearest airport and it is approximately 25 minutes away. Alternative airports are Rome, Pisa, Florence or Ancona. If you chose to drive or hire a car you will find that Montone is an ideal base for visiting so many historic towns, art galleries and museums. Assisi is a short drive away and was the birthplace of St. Francis and home to the stunning Basilica of St. Francis.
