How to get there
Leaving Stockport and Manchester follow the A6 towards Buxton. Having passed through Furness Vale, the road bends to the left and goes under a bridge. Turn left immediately after the railway bridge (sharp turn), and head to Buxworth. On entering the village, pass the church on the left and take the road to the right signed to the canal basin (The village school is at the top of the road). Waters Reach is the second cottage from the bottom of the row on the left. There is roadside parking.

Getting around
Although a car is not necessary, as there is a local bus service and a station in the next village, it is certainly much more convenient to have your own transport if you wish to explore further afield. If you have a bicycle, you can cycle the country lanes and towpaths alongside the Peak Forest Canal where cycling is safe and easy.
