A car is essential in this part of France as it is rural and there are not many buses close by. The train station with easy link to Paris is just a 5 mins drive away - great idea for a day trip. The roads in the area are well maintained and rarely busy. The road to the beaches is at the top of the lane. The A84 motorway which is not a toll road is only 5 mins away and gets you to Mont St Michel, Bayeux, Caen and Cherbourg easily. It is a great place to cycle but is known for its hills as the riders from the 2016 tour de France will tell you. Walking is great in the area and you can walk to the zoo at Champrepus within 20 mins.
