How to get there
Ways to reach the island: there are daily flights from Athens to Kos, and from April to October there are daily flights connecting various European cities to Kos wherefrom are is operated daily service to Nisyros by boat – one-hour long from Kardamaina, two-hours long from the central port of Kos.
Alternatively, there is direct shipping access from Piraeus twice a week (14-hour journey).

Getting around
Perched dramatically on a hill the settlement extends around the medieval core where ruins from the Pantoniki castle and the Taxiarches church remain. The local architecture is formed of stone terraced houses. Emporios, strategically located in the middle of Nisyros between the capital - port of Nisyros and Nikia – Volcano, is the perfect base for exploring the island. It is almost equidistant from most important destinations and sights: 8-9km far from the port, Mandraki Village, Palloi seaside village and the beaches, 4km from Nikia Village and 2km from volcano caldera.
