How to get there
1. From the Airport Nikos Kazantzakis / Port of Heraklion you take the road to the industrial area of Heraklion and after a strait rout of 10 kilometers you will see the crossroad (right direction) drive's you to Archanes Village.
2. You take the road to Knossos and after 7 kilometers you are at Archanes Village.

Getting around
Visit Yiouchtas mountain ( it has the shape of a face looking up in the sky ) and see Archanes from above. At the top of the mountain, there is a unique little church of Christ and a temple from the Minoan civilization. You can do mountain bike, bird watching and you can see and smell the local herbs, like oregano, rosemary and many more. You can visit the Minoan villa where the first winery found 2.500 BC. At Kato Archanes you can visit Fourni forest and visit the ancient theater and the first Christian cemetery.
