Allumette Island is in the middle of the Ottawa River and separates both provinces, Ontario and Quebec, but is owned by Quebec. It is 90 miles north of the cities of Ottawa, Ontario and Gatineau, Quebec. The chalet is facing north and is located on the north side of the island. It is surrounded by forest and nestled in the bay called Chenal de la Culbute, on the eastern side of Indian Point. We are off the main river road. The chalet is 14 miles east of Pembroke, Ontario and 4 miles east of Chapeau, Quebec. This is a remote area, so cell phone service is not guaranteed, however you are welcome to use the house landline, if needed. I recommend before you leave your home, you should upload your maps of this area because service is very spotty, and you do not want to get lost. Park lot holds about 4 cars, please do not block the road or drive way .
