How to get there
To get to Hydra, the easiest way is to book a ferry with Hellenic Seaways from Piraeus Port. It takes about 2 hours to get from Piraeus port to Hydra.
The house is about 650m from the port of Ydra, a bit uphill (about 15min to walk up, 10min to walk down). There are quite a few steps to go up, so if you think this might be a problem for you, please talk to us first. We would be happy to arrange for a donkey to carry up your luggage.
Getting around
Getting around in Ydra is done mostly on foot (no cars are allowed on the island) or by boat (for the nearby beaches or to do a tour of the island). Our house is 10min walking distance to the port where you will find bars, cafes, restaurants, pharmacies, medical center, grocery stores/supermarkets, post office, shopping areas, as well as the boarding areas for the boats that go to the beaches (we can tell you which are the best ones!).
