Getting around
A car is essential - except for the fittest of cyclists. A local Spar mini-market, excellent butcher and a good choice of pub / restaurant is 5 minutes drive away. Larger supermarkets and more eateries are 15 minutes drive. Local taxi firms are here to take you if you want to leave the car. There are many golf courses, hill walks and numerous other activities within easy striking distance. Local cycle hire is also five minutes drive. For the damper days Glasgow (40mins) has a terrific Museum of Transport (free) and Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum (free) and great shopping whilst Stirling (40mins) has Stirling Castle and Wallace Monument (ticketed).
