How to get there
Excellent train service on branch line via Derby (great connections to all points of UK) E.g London St Pancras to Cromford, 2.5 hours. Walkable from station, but taxi will cost about GBP5
. 3 convenient airports - Nottingham East Midlands, Manchester and Birmingham. All have car hire, but also possible to take taxi (ranges GBP35-60, depending on airport)
All can be arranged in advance with owner. Fantastic drive from Manchester over the High Peak...Excellent cycling if you like hills!

Getting around
Inevitably a car is the easiest way to get around, but you can manage without! Firstly, the local train station at Cromford is walkable (uphill, 1.3miles!) and taxis can be arranged from there or from the rank at Matlock Station. There is also a bus service running from Matlock to Bonsall. There is a great way to combine train and car that I personally use. Co-Wheels is a car club that has a vehicle right outside Derby Station, and can be booked online for 23 pounds day, and you drop it right back at the station end of your stay. Never been easier.
