How to get there
Getting to Martinborough is easy - and the scenery's gorgeous. State Highway 2 passes just north of town, or you can catch the train from Wellington.
Coming by train
Jump on the Wairarapa train in Wellington, hop off in Featherston and board the Featherston to Martinborough bus which meets most trains.
Rimutaka Shuttles and Martinborough Shuttles also run between Featherston and Martinborough on request.

Getting around
Jump on State Highway 2 for a direct, scenic drive up through the Remutaka Pass and down into the Wairarapa plains. It's 1hr 10 to Featherston. Add another 15 min for Greytown or Martinborough, or 20 min for Carterton or Masterton. Check conditions on the Remutaka Pass on web cam. From Wellington by train: Sit back and gaze at the scenery - you'll be in Wairarapa in an hour.
