How to get there
The nearest airport (60kms) is Bergerac with daily flights from Stansted, Southampton, Birmingham, East Midlands, Edinburgh, Dublin and Amsterdam in high season with Bordeaux, Toulouse and Limoges providing other services. These services are provided by Ryanair, Flybe and Transavia airlines.Sarlat has its own train station (2kms from centre) which is served by a local bus taking you into the centre of town, but the mainline Paris - Bordeaux - Toulouse TGVs stop at Gourdon (18kms) or Souillac (25kms).

Getting around
Although there are plenty of things to do & see in Sarlat itself, it would be a great shame not to see the fantastic sights which are all within half an hour's drive so we do recommend a car or if you are energetic there are plenty of bike hire shops in the area.There are also small tour guide companies who can organise either pre-arranged trips or made to measure visits if you require. There are also taxi hire firms with English speaking drivers who will happily negotiate a price to take you to the surrounding villages etc.
