The peninsula Lignano Sabbiadoro is located exactly halfway between Venice and Trieste and it is easily reachable by a highway connected to the European motorway system. It has enjoyed 40 years of rapid but controlled development and from the early sixties onwards it is among the very first ranks of Italian and international seaside resorts. Over eight kilometres of fine sandy beach separate the sea from a green pine grove still covering most part of the area in which urban development was integrated without changing the natural characteristics of this beautiful territory. The warm and safe sea, often awarded the Blue Flag because of its water quality, with its shallow bottom and without perils is suitable for children and non-swimmers.
