How to get there
We can organize private transfers for you at affordable rates, and great service -- from Liberia Airport in Costa Rica, Managua airport, San Juan del Sur, or from any other destination.
We would suggest flying in to Liberia airport, Costa Rica since there were protests and civil unrest in the Nicaragua capital Managua, earlier in 2018, as well flying into Liberia will often have cheaper options, because it is access to the Guanacaste Peninsula in Costa Rica.
Our region was not unaffected, as there was no protest or unrest, only that many tourist jobs have been impacted, and many surf breaks have been less crowded. It is a great time to visit Nicaragua in that sense, and our location is even closer to Liberia, and allows easy transfer along highways passing more rural and village life, until you reach our sanctuary beach.

Getting around
Most of the lifestyle when you're staying at Casa Horizon lets the outside world slip away, and most days are spent in the close vicinity of the hotel, where there's an abundance of amazing experiences. Walking, surfing, paddle-boarding, horseback riding, catamaran & boat trips, or acro yoga, are how we normally get around. If you decide you want to visit other beaches, or San Juan del Sur for a night out, or shopping, we have a network of local drivers that can cater to your needs, as well as our own hotel transport that can assist with activities and trips to town (25 mins). If you choose to drive on your own, then we recommend that you get a 4x4 for some of the unpaved roads, but it's still possible to make it with a smaller car.
