How to get there
When you arrive in the town of Castlebar Co. Mayo follow the sign for Achill. You will drive through the town of Newport, Mulranny and on to Achill. When you cross the bridge into Achill drive straight for about 4 miles. You will then pass Ted's pub on your right. Go straight ahead for about 1 mile , you will come to a little hill with a school on your left. .After that Avondale House is the first two storey house on your left.

Getting around
You can travel by car, by bicycle ( which you can hire/ information on this is in the Information Pack in the house , ) you can go hill walking or stroll on the many beautiful beaches on the Island. If you do not wish to drive to go to a restaurant ,Guilty's pub/ restaurant in the village of Dooagh will collect you by minibus and bring you back to Avondale free of charge.
