Leave Dublin/Airport and drive north on the M1 Motorway, following signposts for Belfast. After approx 55 miles, depart Motorway/N1 at Newry (first exit for Newry) following signs for the A24 to Warrenpoint (Mourne Coastal Route). Travel on The A24 passing through Newry, Warrenpoint, Rostrevor and finally travelling in to the small town of Kilkeel.

Take a left at the first set of traffic lights in Kilkeel, staying on the A24 following the signposts for Newcastle. Take a left at the next set of traffic lights (factory on right hand side) on to the Carrigenagh Rd. Travel on the Carrigenagh Rd approx 2 miles and take a right on to Church Rd (at small Church). Travel past small primary school and take a left on to the Brackenagh West Rd. Travel up the Brackenagh West Rd 1 mile and you will arrive at the lane to Haughian's Cottage. Haughian's Cottage is at the bottom of this small stone lane, so it may be difficult to see from the road. A partially built bungalow also shares this laneway.

Travelling from Belfast, follow signposts for A24 to Newcastle going through Carryduff and Ballynahinch before arriving in Newcastle. You also have the option of leaving Belfast via the M1 motorway taking the slip road off for Lisburn and follow the signposts for Saintfield/Ballynahinch and then on to Newcastle.

When in Newcastle follow signposts for A24 to Kilkeel (coastal road). Travel approximately 7 miles along this road and prior to arriving in Annalong, you will pass a petrol station 'Low Cost Fuels' (old fashioned petrol station).

Take a right at this petrol station on to the Quarter Rd (sign post for the Silent Valley). Travel approximately 5 miles along along the QuarterRd/Head Rd and take the 6th road on the left hand side - Brackenagh West Rd.

Travel down the Brackenagh West Rd for 1 mile and you will arrive at the lane of the Cottage (right hand side). Haughian's Cottage is located at the bottom of this stone lane, so it may be difficult to see from the road. A partially built bungalow (no roof) also shares this laneway.
