Getting around

Lucca is located between Florence and Pisa, near mountains and the sea. An ideal homebase for exploring Tuscany, daytrips to Sienna and Cortona by car and Vesilia, Florence and Pisa by train or bus. Rich history: Etruscans, Romans and the Renaissance. Napoleon gave his sister Elisa the city as a present in 1805 and she built a treelined boulevard atop the Renaissance Walls which are wonderful for strolls, biking, jogging or picnics.

Shopping is excellent for local artisan jewellery and ceramics as well as name brand shops and boutiques. Traditional Tuscan cuisine, simple, elegant and delicious for every budget! Visit the wine road or villas in the surrounding hills. Lucca Summer Festival features pop and rock music in July
