How to get there
Most visitors to Chatel use one of two methods.
We prefer driving, Chatel is 510 miles from Calais and although we have driven from the UK to our chalet in one go we usually stop overnight on route at a reasonably price hotel.
The alternative is to fly to Geneva where a car can be hired, or a transfer can be arranged. Another very scenic and interesting alternative is to catch the mainline train from Geneva airport to Aigle, then transfer to the rack railway going to Troistorrents where a taxi will be required to take you to Chalet Gallois. At peak times in the ski season there is a bus service from Aigle to Chatel.

Getting around
There is a free bus service in summer and winter to the village and ski slopes, the bus stops are opposite and 100 metres from the chalet. Although a car is not essential it is helpful for shopping and going further afield. Because public transport is very limited out of season we would recommend a car for visitors at these times.
