A car is recommended although there are many walks from the front door where you will not need a car. Cheddar is under 5 miles, Weston-Super-Mare is only 13 miles , Wells 11 miles, Bristol 19 miles and Bath 29 miles. There is a bus link to Wells and Weston. And a Falcon coach that joins Plymouth and Bristol that is accessible via the A38 (just ask for details or check Falcon website) all are easy to access via the A38.
