How to get there
Rhayader is located on the A470 and A44 cross road. Once in Rhayer head West on West St, B4518 towards The Elan Valley, the road drops down over a bridge and enters Cwmdauddwr, as you start to head up hill out of Cwmdauddwr turn right signed for Nannerth, follow the road for half a mile then turn right, again signed for Nannerth. Head along lane for quarter of a mile looking out for large tree stump with owl on it on your right. Just past it there is an entrance on your right, signed for Gwardolau House & cottage, head down track and gateway for cottage and house will be in front of you.

Getting around
Walking is a great way to explore the local area, with Rhayader being a 20-30 minute walk away. There is a foot/cycle path leading to the Elan Valley for the more energetic. There is a national cycle route which passes the cottage and the local hills can be accessed a few hundred yards away.
