How to get there

SatNav should work well.

At Rhos-fawr continue on the B4354 out into the national speed limit zone for a very short distance , to just before the Hidden Dip sign (picture of an exclamation mark). Look for a green wheelie bin on your right (just inside the track entrance). The name of the cottage Pen y Maes is on the bin. If you do not see it then you have the wrong track so stop and go back to Rhosfawr.

Gone too far on the b4354? Then turn around, drive back just a little way and look out for Rhos-fawr Caravan and Camping park (on the left). 50m on from here look left for the track. Turn right at Cae Fron Oleu caravan and continue.

The zig-zagging farm track is half a mile long to the cottage. Those of you unfamiliar with rural tracks may feel a little nervous due to the rough surface and narrow width. Under 10mph is best to prevent stone flicking up. Go very slowly in first gear. Stay fairly central to avoid the water filled, steep sided ditches. Use a lower speed and horn warnings on the bends. Please do not enter or exit the track from the other end as this is will cause problems for the host. Please ignore SatNav.if it directs you this way (always enter and exit via the b4354. All of the track is private. During your stay please do not drive or walk onto private land at the north end of Pen y Maes property(Google shows all tracks for emergency services it does not mean the public can use them).
