How to get there
-Driving from the airport:
1.Drive 500 meters south.
2.Turn right to the highway exit “Rethymno”.
3.Drive (about) 20 km West. You will come across 2 signs “Lygaria Beach” and “Made” after a sharp left turn (marked with red reflected signs).

4.Turn right, drive for about 350 meters and take the sharp right turn next to “Angel Village”
5.Drive 450 meters, turn right on the steep private concrete road.
-Driving from the harbour:
1. Turn right to the Nearchou Avenue and drive 4 km (turns into El. Venizelou after 1km)
2. Turn right following the “Rethymno” sign
3. Drive 13 km West. You will come across 2 signs “Lygaria Beach” and “Made” after a sharp left turn (marked with red reflected signs).

I would definitely recommend on renting a car during your stay. It would be essential for moving around nearby beaches. The location is a perfect starting point for your daily trips/activities as well since it is situated in between Rethymno and Agios Nikolaos On top of that the bus network is not properly developed making connections between major cities and beaches a difficult thing I would definitely recommend on renting a car during your stay.
