How to get there
Car is a necessity that you cannot avoid if you want to discover Crete and it's beauties. You can rent one from the airport or the internet. Travel time from Heraklion or Chania airports, is about 1 hour by car.
Getting around
If you want to use the local bus, you must walk to the next village (1.5km) and wait for it (passing by every 1 hour or so). Lots of areas to visit in Rethymno and Crete in general. Historical sites, traditional villages, natures miracles. But you must have a car.
