How to get there
Opperdoes is a village in the province of North Holland, in the region of West Friesland, municipality of Medemblik. It was an independent municipality until 1978. In 1979, transferred to the municipality of Noorder-Koggenland, in 2007 to the town of Medemblik. Location Opperdoes is located directly SW of Medemblik. Getting around
The Hoorn-Medemblik Museum Steamram has stops for Hoorn, Wognum, Twisk, Opperdoes and Medemblik. In the past, the farmers of Opperdoes had a lot of land that was accessible only by water. The harvest was then dumped by boat to the steam tram. - In 2013, the 10 hectares of nature, recreation and water storage area De Skoôt was realized. Previously it was the agricultural area. The area is located north of Opperdoes and the West Frisian Omringdijk / Markerwaardweg. Two restored 'Bosman mills' take account of the landfill and level management of the water storage areas. A recreational cycle and footpath is laid in parallel with the nature reserve.
