How to get there
from the Liberia airport travel to santa cruz, right before entering santa cruz there is a bridge and you want to make a right just before the bridge and travel for 26 kilometers to a small town called Hernandez, turn left there and from there it is 8 kilometers to the avellanas, the last 6 kilometers before avellanas after the left turn at Hernandez is a gravel road.
Getting around
there is a public bus that goes to santa cruz city twice a day and a shuttle bus from avellanas to tamarindo. there is also an in house taxi available for airport pick ups and day tours. rental cars are available in the area if you want more private transport.
