How to get there
If you are arriving by road and do not have a four-wheel-drive vehicle, then we suggest that you travel on the A895 (turn off the A9 at Helmsdale) and the turn right over a small bridge about 2 miles after passing Forsinard Hotel, followed by an immediate right turn. You will have to open and close 5 gates, none of which are locked, and then come to Lochdhu Lodge (also in Altnabreac - the big house with wind turbines) to collect the keys.

Getting around
If you are traveling from Inverness by train then you must let the conductor know that it is a request stop at Altnabreac. From Altnabreac you can also get to Thurso and Wick. You must let us know if you are planning to arrive by train so we can pick you up and escort to the cottage.
