FortyTwo is just five minutes' level walk from the Red Jet hi-speed Red Funnel passenger ferry from Southampton. The Red Funnel car ferry comes in just across the river (you can see it from the top bedroom) and is short hop by chain ferry. Or you can drive round, via Newport. The Wightlink car ferry (from Portsmouth) comes in about 30 minutes' drive away, at Fishbourne, near Ryde. There is a frequent bus service to Newport and the rest of the Island.
