How to get there
From Galway City centre follow the coast road / Wild Atlantic Way through Salthill and along the famous prom. When you reach the t junction at Knocknacarra, take a left turn and continue to follow the coast road / Wild Atlantic Way through Barna and into Furbo village ( Na Forbacha ) Once you pass the Connemara Coast Hotel on your left, look for Slemons garage a couple of kilometres further on. Just past Slemons you will see Furbo Church on your right. Barr Na g Currach is the next private road on your left, and number 2 is the second house on the left. There is a private parking space outside the house

Getting around
A car is the best way of getting around so that you can stop and explore at your leisure but there are many organised coach tours which will take you to some of the best attractions, such as the Burren and Cliffs of Moher, Kylemore Abbey and walled gardens, Clifden, The Sky Road, Westport, Letterfrack, Leenaun and Renvyle Peninsula. The Aran Islands lie just off Galway Bay. Take a day trip by ferry or air to the last outpost of traditional Irish culture. Ferries operate to the islands from Doolin in Co Clare and Rossaveal in Co Galway. Flights leave from Inverin local airport just 10 minutes drive from the cottage in Furbo
