How to get there
The Carlo House is located a 5 minute walk from our main property McKinley Creekside Cabins & Café.
It will take 4 hours to reach Denali/McKinley Creekside Cabins. All of the highways in Alaska have milepost signs, we are at milepost 224 on the George Parks Hwy (Route 3).
From Anchorage you will follow the Glenn Highway (Route 1) North towards Wasilla about 45 minutes then you will stay to the left and the highway turns into the George Parks Highway (Route 3).
You will continue to follow the George Parks Highway for about 3 more hours north to mile marker 224-McKinley Creekside Cabins & Café.
Fill your car up at the Sunshine Tesoro at mile 101.
Stop at mile 135 for a bathroom break and great views of Denali (west side of hwy or on your left)
Once you come through the town of Cantwell we are located about 20 miles north of this town and 13 miles south of the entrance to Denali National Park.
You will cross Carlo Creek Bridge and we are immediately on the right- east side of the road. You will see our big sign that says “McKinley Creekside Cabins”.

Getting around
You must have your own transportation and we recommend you rent a car in Anchorage to drive to Denali We cater to independent travelers that want to be close to the park, but not at a big resort. It is a scenic drive that will take approximately 4 hours (Fairbanks to Denali is about 2 hours, however you typically get better rates flying into Anchorage). Having a car will allow you the freedom and flexibility to explore at your leisure and to stay at smaller properties such as McKinley Creekside Cabins & Café. If you decide to take the train it will take approx. 8 hours to get to Denali from Anchorage and about 4 hours from Fairbanks. You can rent a car from Keys to Denali.
