Jarandilla is the geographical center of the region of La Vera. It can be reached via Arenas de San Pedro (50 Km), Navalmoral de la Mata (33 Km) or Plasencia (40 km). It is the only town that has two castles, one templario the twelfth century and other medieval-Renaissance of the fifteenth century (current Parador) where I stayed Carlos before occupying the nearby monastery of Yuste. Las Hazas is a spectacular house, surrounded by towering firs and cedars, located on the steep main street that got its start at the front door of medieval castle, and that leads to the beautiful village of Guijo de Santa Barbara. "Las Hazas" is five minutes walk from the gate of said Parador Nacional de Turismo.
