How to get there

From the South:

Take the M1 north to junction 8.

At junction 8 take the R152 exit to Duleek.

At the roundabout take the 2nd exit onto R152.

At the next roundabout take the 2nd exit onto Platin Rd/R152.

After 2kms approx turn left onto R108.

200 metres later turn right to stay on the R108 Mary's Street.

At the lights at the T junction opposite Dunnes Stores turn left onto James Street R132.

Get into the right hand lane and turn right at the lights onto Shop Street R167 to cross the river.

Directly over the bridge turn right onto the R167 to follow the river east on North Quay.

At the end there's a large entrance, turn left and then right onto the R167.

This road follows the river east. Continue for approximately 3 miles/5kms.

After about 2 miles/3.5kms, you will pass a row of houses on the left overlooking the river.

Shortly afterwards you will pass a white wall on the left.

Look for a thatched cottage on the right just after a sharp bend.

Slow down.

The Bunker is the next house on the left. You will see the gable end on the left.

Pass the gable and turn in directly afterwards into a yard.

Turn immediately left to park in front of the pale pink house.

If you get to the turning signed right to Baltray you have gone too far. Turn back the way you came over a small stone bridge and turn right into the first entrance. The house will be on your left.

From the North:

Take the M1 south.

At junction 10, take the N51 exit to Slane/Drogheda North.

At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto N51.

At the next roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto N51.

At the next roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto R132.

Turn left onto Cross Lane, past Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital on the right.

At the roundabout take the first exit and turn immediately right onto Crushrod Avenue.

Continue onto Glenmore drive.

At the lights cross straight over onto Bredin Street. Continue to the end where the road turns right before coming to a T junction.

Turn left onto R167 signed to Baltray.

Continue along the R167 following the north side of the river Boyne for approximately 3 miles/5kms, past the houses on the left at Queensboro overlooking the river. Pass a white wall on the left. As you get near to Baltray just around a sharp left hand bend you will see a thatched house on the right, the first house on the river side of the road since leaving Drogheda, slow down! The Bunker is the next house on the left. There is a stone garden wall and a white/pale pink gable end on your left. Enter by the farm gateway directly after the gable. Turn immediately left to park in front of the door to the pale pink house.

From Drogheda:

Take the R167 following the north side of the river Boyne. Continue along the river approximately 3 miles, past the houses on the left at Queensboro overlooking the river. Pass a white wall on the left. As you get near to Baltray just around a sharp left hand bend you will see a thatched house on the right, the first house on the river side of the road since leaving Drogheda, slow down! Getting around

There is a bus service from Drogheda through Baltray, Termonfeckin and Clogherhead and back again that stops just beside the house five times a day in each direction. Takes about 15 minutes to or from Drogheda.
