How to get there

Directions to Standlow Farm, Standlow Lane, Kniveton, DE6 1QZ from the south via M1:

Leave the M1 at junction 23A. Follow the A50 towards Uttoxeter/Alton Towers. At Sudbury, leave the A50 for the A515 and travel for approximately 8 miles until you reach the large roundabout entering Ashbourne. At the large roundabout continue straight on over a mini roundabout, and straight on through a set of traffic lights. At the next set of traffic lights turn left, sign posted Wirksworth B5035. Follow these sign posts to Wirksworth/Carsington

Water until you reach Kniveton village. You will travel down a hill into the village. Continue past the Red Lion pub on your left and the church on your right. Pass through Kniveton village and continue straight on, climbing up the hill on the other side. Continue up the hill round a corner, and take the turning on the left where you see the Standlow Farm Holiday Cottages sign. This is Standlow Lane. Continue down the lane and you will see a row of

cottages in front of you. Foxglove Cottage is the second from the left. If you can pull in front of the cottages to unload and then move the vehicles to the car park, it would be appreciated.

Getting around

A car is preferable for arrival at Standlow but once you are there, you can unpack and unwind. Carsington Water offers bicycle hire and plenty of routes to follow traffic-free. Alternatively, take the country bus and visit the local areas. Derbyshire is full of walks and trails, many traffic-free, and always with a coffee shop or tea room to visit.
