How to get there
You can fly to Bologna Marconi airport and hire a car - we usually use Firefly but there are plenty of hire car companies. It takes around 30 minutes from the airport to the house (We will send you instructions when you have fully paid for your booking.)
Florence airport is just under an hour away to the south, Pisa 1.5 hours to the west and we have even flown into Venice and driven from there which takes about two hours.
We quite often drive from the UK - the cheapest and quickest way is via Switzerland - it is 13 hours door to door from Calais to our house and, subject to San Gottardo tunnel moving okay , a straightforward and mostly very beautiful drive.

Getting around
You will need a car! We have walked to the villages around us, Montorio is about 25 mins on foot, but the roads are steep. It is also possible to walk to Ripoli train station, which takes around 40 mins on foot and from there you can catch direct trains to Bologna and Prato.
